In 2006, Threshold House announced Moon’s Milk (In Six Phases), a “deluxe gallery edition” 3CD/book set that was to compile their four Equinox and Solstice EPs, the three tracks from the Moons Milk (In Four Phases) Bonus Disc and “some new reinterpretations of those songs”. The book was to feature photographs of the 333 hand-painted covers for the Moon’s Milk (In Four Phases) Bonus Disc along with a listing of their titles and respective owners.
<...> [However, Peter] Christoperson was never to issue Moon’s Milk (In Six Phases) in his lifetime. His passing makes it uncertain whether the package will ever eventuate as at this stage there have been no further Coil releases. Danny Hyde, who worked with Christopherson on the proposed reissue, eventually released the additional material that had been intended for the third disc of the set. Issued as Moon’s Milk in Final Phase, the three tracks were credited to Electric Sewer Age rather than Coil.

Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894) <...> spent the final four years of his life on his estate near the village of Vailima in Samoa. Over the course of these years, he wrote 45 letters to his dear friend Sidney Colvin (1845-1927), the English curator and critic. Colvin published the letters soon after Stevenson’s death, tipping the originals into a unique, oversized and gilt-edged, multi-volume set.

впрочем, были в этой дружбе и свои ньюансы:
Stevenson, the author of the classic adventures Treasure Island and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, spent the last years of his life on the Samoan island of Upolu where he wrote a series of fantastic tales and fables that he specifically asked to be published as a set.
However, instead of complying with the writer’s request, his literary agent, Sidney Colvin, asked Cassell to publish two of the fairy stories – The Bottle Imp and The Isle of Voices – in a volume alongside a naturalistic short story of a completely different type.

The new volume of Fables and Fairy Tales is due out in 2013, as part of the New Edinburgh edition of Stevenson’s works, which is planned to be the definitive collection.

[1] — меж тем, по следам каких-то последних разговоров, мне увиделось вдруг, что Путин (или любая другая нескончаемая гидра) суть и в самом деле как раз тот, кто должен существовать в этом заплесневелом стане ксенофобов и мракобесов — и править там беспрерывно. остается только надеяться, что  agathis, например, и все другие успеют вовремя и дальше исчезнуть в какой-нибудь обязательно Галактический Тибет.

Second is that we are moving all the social needs that we used to do face-to-face, and we’re doing them on a computer.

да, я был не прав, говоря о Челси раньше: оказывается, единственное, чего им не хватало — это тренера, который просто не мешал бы игрокам.
что до Баварии, то со времен финала в 99-ом, они, выходит, так ничему и не научились, и ошибки упрямо повторяют ровно те же самые.
ну, а больше всех, конечно, пострадали футбольный клуб Тоттенхэм и ныне безработный тренер Андре Виллаш-Боаш.

перечитываю “Барочный цикл”, кстати[1]. не уверен, что меня хватит на все 4 тома подряд (т.е., плюс “Криптономикон”), но все же.
так вот, у Стивенсона (в очередной раз) на самом деле просто удивительное количество чудесного между строк. например, здесь:
— Всё же рассматривать виды пусть даже и воображаемого города в определенном смысле полезно, — сказал Лейбниц. — В конкретный момент времени художник видит город только с одной точки и потому перемещается: пишет сперва с холма на одной его стороне, затем с башни на другой и с перекрёстка в центре, всё на одном холсте. Значит, глядя на полотно, мы в некой малой степени постигаем, как Господь видит Вселенную, ибо Он зрит её со всех точек зрения одновременно. Населив мир столькими мыслящими созданиями, каждое из которых смотрит с собственной точки зрения, Он дает нам понять, что значит быть вездесущим.
вы же понимаете, что он говорит о Google Street View, etc, да? Бог суть их чудесный акционер.
